Church and Society News – May 2011

This month’s newsletter from the Church and Society Council of the Church of Scotland previews the Council’s report to this year’s General Assembly. This year’s report covers areas from Afghanistan to the West Bank, from mental health to climate change, from Religious Observance in schools to domestic abuse, Gypsies/Travellers, fashion and the worldwide web.
The Poverty Truth Commission has produced a major new report from civic and church groups which calls ‘on people living in poverty to be involved in shaping and delivering anti-poverty policy’ and there is good news to report in that the UK Government has announced that the UK intends to opt-in to the EU Directive on Trafficking.
