Rainbow Trees 2013

Rainbow Trees 2013Rainbow Tree (Village Hall)Rainbow Tree (Forge Centre, Balloch)Each December at Cumbernauld Old, we hold our Rainbow Service – a service of remembrance and reflection for those who have been bereaved.

During this service we invite people to come forward and take two coloured ribbons for each person they wish to remember; one to tie on the Rainbow Tree and one to take away with them and keep, or use in a way that helps them remember.

There are two Rainbow Trees, one which will go into the Parish Church once it has re-opened for worship and one which is on display at our worship services in the Forge Community Centre at Balloch.

Both trees will remain until Easter 2014 and we invite anyone visiting our church or attending our services to tie a ribbon in memory of a loved one. At Easter the ribbons are removed from the tree and used to enhance our worship – no ribbon is ever discarded or reused.

The pictures show the Rainbow Trees from our service on 15 December 2103.
