A HUGE vote of thanks to everyone at Cumbernauld Old who responded to our appeal for hand-knits and baby clothes for the Life for African Mothers charity.
The appeal is now closed and we have exceeded all our expectations: thanks to everyone who helped we filled 12 large boxes full of absolutely beautiful baby items, not six as we had initially hoped for. We are currently investigating ways of having these shipped to the charity’s base in Bristol – free of charge, of course!
Thanks, too, to Elizabeth Snedden and Anne Morrison for all their efforts in setting up this appeal.

Christian Aid Week 2015
The money from the annual house-to-house collection in the parish has been counted and we can announce that the amazing sum of £2600.43 was collected this year. Of that £1224.10 was Gift-Aided, allowing Christian Aid to reclaim the tax at 25p in the £1 from these donations.
But the good news doesn’t end there – a further £500 was raised for Christian Aid at the Boys’ Brigade annual display in the Forge, so well done to them and to the parents and friends who supported them.
1st Cumbernauld Boys’ Brigade Annual Display 2015
It was the Annual Display of the 1st Cumbernauld Boys’ Brigade Company on Thursday evening, and a mighty fine evening it was too. There was a marvellous turnout of boys, from the Anchor Boys (P1 to P3), Junior Section (P4 – P6), and Company Section and Seniors, as well as many parents, families and friends.
