The 1st Cumbernauld Company of the Boys’ Brigade, attached to Cumbernauld Old Parish Church, are having their Annual Display and Awards Evening on Thursday 24th May in the Forge Community Hall, Balloch.
All are welcome to come along and support the boys, young men and leaders. The evening starts at 7.00pm and tea / coffee and home baking will be available, with the money raised being donated to Christian Aid.
Now that Cumbernauld Old’s support for the Life for African Mothers project has come to a natural conclusion, we thought it would now be appropriate to support new mothers and their children here in Cumbernauld through Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Baby Bank.
From now on, there will be a box in the vestibule of the church and the back of the hall at Balloch for donations. The ‘bank’ would appreciate anything suitable for babies or children up to 7 years of age, e.g.
Clothing doesn’t have to be new but should be in great condition and freshly laundered. Hand knits would also be appreciated.
The Fundraising Group at Cumbernauld Old Parish Church met recently to firm up plans for the Summer Fair. This will take place on Saturday 16th June from 1.30pm to 3.30pm in the Manse grounds. The entry fee is £2 for adults and includes tea / coffee and a scone with cream and jam. There is no entry fee for children under 16 years of age.
