Having now heard officially from North Lanarkshire Council that our Sunday let at the Forge Community Centre in Balloch will not be extended beyond the end of September, the Kirk Session of Cumbernauld Old Parish Church has reluctantly agreed, as an interim arrangement, to hold a single service of worship in the Parish Church in the Village on Sundays at the revised time of 11am from Sunday 7 October onwards.
We will continue to seek to have this decision overturned as well as seek alternative arrangements for regular Sunday worship in our parish north of the M80.
Transport will be arranged for those who need to get from Balloch to the Village. If you require transport please let us know as soon as possible.
On Sunday 30th September we will celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion at the 11.45am worship service in the Forge and invite past and present worshippers to join us at this special service. There will also be a service at the usual time of 10.15am in the Parish Church that Sunday before we move to our new time.
The Ladies’ Circle and Boys’ Brigade company who meet at the Forge during the week are unaffected by this change, which affects only weekend lets.
