The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated at Cumbernauld Old Parish Church on Sunday 2nd December.
Our morning worship service will take place at 11am, with a shorter, more reflective service at 6.30pm. Both services will be in the Parish Church in Baronhill.

As we have done in previous years, Cumbernauld Old Parish Church will be participating in the Church of Scotland World Mission Used Stamp Appeal over Christmas and New Year.
We’re inviting members to cut out and keep the postage stamps from any Christmas Cards they receive. These used stamps can then be put in the collection box which will be in the Church vestibule during December and
the early part of January.
This year’s appeal will help the Reformed Church in Transcarpathia (Ukraine) to run a number of daycare centres providing educational, emotional, and physical support for children and young people with disabilities. The appeal will support the young people to live life in all its fullness and to enjoy opportunities to participate in society and family life.
When cutting the stamps from your envelopes please leave a small, at least ¼-inch (0.5cm), border around the stamp. Thanks!

Cumbernauld Old Parish Church will be starting to hold worship services in the Village Care Home on the last Sunday of the month, starting on Sunday 25th November at 3.00pm.
This will be a short service, no more than half-an-hour, with readings, a short reflection and three hymns. It would be great to see other people there, so please come along and join us!
Elspeth has also arranged a Carol Singing night at the Care Home on Thursday 13th December. There may also be some festive poems and readings too. So please put the dates in your diary – we look forward to seeing you there.
On Sunday 11th November there will be a short Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial in Cumbernauld Village at 10.45am.
Morning Worship in Cumbernauld Old Parish Church will follow at the later-than-usual time of 11.15am.
Our Armistice knitted poppy display will be unveiled at church on Sunday 11th November and there will also be an opportunity for people to come and view the display on Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th from 7.00pm to 9.00pm both evenings.
Cumbernauld Old Parish Church would like to express once again our thanks to everyone who knitted and crocheted poppies over the past weeks and months. Every one was beautiful and a real work of art.
Thanks also to all the ladies who came along to sew them onto the panels of netting. Each session was full of chat and laughter, not to mention tea and biscuits. It was a real opportunity to get to know others and we even had volunteers from other churches in the town and several village residents.
Our work is now done and everything is ready to hand over to Anne Louise and Julian for the final installation. This will be carried out over the next few days in time for Remembrance Sunday.
Lots of people have said that they would like to see the finished work but for some reason won’t be able to come on the 11th November, therefore we have decided to open the church on Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th from 7.00pm to 9.00pm both evenings to allow visitors to see the result of all our hard hard work.

Cumbernauld Old Parish Church would like to offer a HUGE vote of thanks to Cumbernauld Musical Theatre Society for their wonderful fund-raising concert ‘Lullaby of Broadway‘ at the Forge Community Centre last Thursday.
It was one of these evenings where we were close to running out of superlatives: fabulous, magnificent, sparkling, fantastic, brilliant, and talented were only some of the words used to express our delight at the superb evening they presented for us.
The evening was a total sell-out and every single person there went home with a song (or two) in their hearts. So, once more, many, many thanks and ‘Haste Ye Back’
