Just over two years ago the fundraising group at Cumbernauld Old Parish Church launched ‘Cumbernauld Old Smart Savers’ by giving everyone a tube of Smarties to enjoy, after which we hoped they would fill the tube with 20p and 10p coins and return to church.
We want to thank everyone who took part and continued throughout the year to fill tubes and hand them in as part of fundraising.
In 2019 you raised the wonderful amount of £758.51 for church funds (obviously a random penny sneaked into a tube somewhere!) That was a great addition to our fundraising total for last year, so thank-you so much for your continued support for this initiative.
We have restocked our collection of Smarties and will be continuing this fund-raiser throughout 2020. The Smart Savers box is in the church vestibule on Sunday mornings (you can’t miss it, as it’s covered with Smarties paper!) so please collect and enjoy your candy-covered chocolate, fill the box with your spare 10p and 20p coins, and drop off your filled tube at church. You can then take another box and repeat the cycle – but only if you wish. With many thanks once again for your amazing response to this initiative.
