Reopening of the Church

The Trustees of Cumbernauld Old Parish Church have agreed to open the Church for a time of private prayer (‘Time for Reflection’) on Sunday 20th September at 11am for half an hour and every third Sunday of the month thereafter.

The Property Convener and members of the Property Team have worked hard in conjunction with Falkirk Presbytery to ensure that the risks have been minimised and all safeguards are in place to make worshipping as safe as possible. As with any activity, the risk of infection is real and present. A letter with all the relevant details will be sent to members and adherents soon.

The Time for Reflection will not be a service in the ‘traditional’ sense; it will be a time for people to come and reflect and pray for half an hour in the church building. Because of the current restrictions, we need to limit the number of people who can attend and so a booking system will be in operation.

If you would like to attend the church for the Time for Reflection, on this or subsequent months, and wish to book a place, please telephone Anne Murphy, on 01236 726875 or 07719 290042, giving your name, those in your household who will be attending with you (if applicable), the date you wish to attend and your telephone number for ‘test and protect’.

Finally, a reminder that a letter with all the details of the steps we have taken and how our Sunday gatherings will work in practice will be sent to our members shortly, and also that we will continue to provide online services every week for the foreseeable future.
Take care. Stay safe!
