Cumbernauld Old Parish Church invites you to worship with us online this Sunday, 28th February – the Second Sunday of Lent. Worship is led by our minister, Rev Elspeth McKay and is available here or from the video link below.
You are welcome to join in our worship at any time, but why not join us at 11.00am on Sunday which many of us keep as our usual time of worship, even though we won’t all be under the one roof for now.
As with all our worship services, this Sunday’s service is available to all, so please feel free to share with any family or friends. Please also check out our Facebook page for all the latest news from Cumbernauld Old. We have also posted a series of Lent reflections on our Facebook page and invite you to share in a short reading and reflection each day from now until Easter.
Coffee and Chat
Please join us for a Coffee and Chat via Zoom or telephone on Wednesday at 3.00pm.
The plan is to meet up online or by phone every Wednesday afternoon and we hope these informal get-togethers will allow us some kind of relaxed social contact from the comfort of our own homes. You don’t need to join us every week, feel free to drop in or out whenever it suits you.
If you would like a link to the Coffee and Chat, please let us know and we will send you the details. Everyone is very welcome and you can join either online or by telephone.
Fairtrade Fortnight
This year’s Fairtrade Fortnight runs from 22 February until 7 March and has the theme, “Choose the World You Want“.
Fairtrade Fortnight 2021 aims to highlight the growing challenges that climate change brings to farmers and workers in the communities Fairtrade works with by listening to their voices and prioritising what they need to respond to the environmental crises unfolding in already vulnerable communities..
We can all play our part in this process by supporting Fairtrade and buying Fairtrade goods where possible. As a Fairtrade Church, Cumbernauld Old will be playing our part with our worship service on Sunday 7th March having a distinctive Fairtrade theme
Kirk Session Meeting
The Kirk Session will meet by Zoom and telephone on Thursday 11th March at 7.30pm.
An agenda and the minutes of our previous meeting have been sent electronically to everyone for whom we have an email address and by post to other members of the Kirk Session.
