Worship on Sunday 28th August
Please join us for worship at Cumbernauld Old on Sunday 28th August at 11.00am in the Parish Church. Our worship service this week will be led by Rev. Edson Duque de Castro, Assistant Minister at Springfield Cambridge Parish Church in Bishopbriggs. Everyone welcome!
The service will also be live-streamed on our Facebook page at 11am on Sunday if you can’t be with us in person.
We have now restarted serving teas and coffees after our services, so why not join us for a cuppa and a blether in the Session House after our worship?
Fair Trade
We pleased to announce that our monthly Fair Trade stall will resume in church after worship on Sunday 28th August and then on the last Sunday in every month with your favourites old and new.

We celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion on Sunday 4th September and everyone is invited. That week also sees the start of our new Book Group and Community Singing Group. The newsletter has news of these and there’s also an update from our Mission in Action team, our fundraising team and craft group, a report from our property convener and news of an exciting event taking place in the Manse Garden on Saturday 10th September.
In addition to the regular Fairtrade update the magazine has news about our ongoing support for the local food bank as well as Christian Aid and Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Care.

One Enchanted Evening!
Cumbernauld Old Parish Church was delighted to host the Bruadar Duo last week as part of their recent series of concerts and it’s safe to say they held us spell-bound by their music. Many thanks to Kieran (guitar) and Lynn (flute) for their wonderful playing of contemporary music from South America and the UK. It really was an evening to remember!

Cumbernauld Old is delighted to host a concert by the Bruadar Duo in the Parish Church on Friday 19th August at 7.30pm. Featuring Kieran on classical guitar and Lynn (who’s also one of our organists) playing the flute, there will be music from Scotland, England and South America.
Entry is free, but donations will be appreciated. Don’t miss it!

Cumbernauld Old is delighted to host a concert by the Bruadar Duo in the Parish Church on Friday 19th August at 7.30pm.
Featuring Kieran on classical guitar and Lynn (who’s also one of our organists) on flute, the Duo will play music from Scotland, England and South America. This is part of a series of concerts which includes venues such as Greyfriars Kirk and St Mary’ Episcopal Cathedral In Edinburgh. St Mary’s Parish Church Haddington, Hill of Tarvit Mansion House, and more.
Entry is free, but donations will be appreciated. Don’t miss it!

New groups starting soon
We are delighted that two new groups from the church and community will be starting in September. The first meeting of the Book Club takes place on Tuesday 6th September at 2pm in the Session House and will meet on the first Tuesday of the month thereafter.
The following day, Wednesday 7th September, our new singing group meets at 7pm in church under the leadership of one of our organists Lynn Strang. All welcome.

Baby Bank Appeal
We are taking part in the Fill-a-Bag Appeal for Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Baby Bank and have already passed on a full bags of donations to them. We now have a new bag to fill, so if you can help with items for wee ones, such as bubble bath, nappy cream, vests, socks, pyjamas, etc. that would be much appreciated. For older kids, we’d like items such as pants, socks, deodorant, shampoo, toothbrushes, etc and the third request is for school essentials such as pencil cases, school tights, white polos, white and blue shirts and blouses. Thank you!
