Everyone is warmly welcomed to join us for worship on Sunday 15th May. Our service will be held in the Parish Church at 11.00am and will be led this week by Ivar Struthers, one of our elders and a Reader with the Church of Scotland. We hope you can join us!

We also plan to livestream this service on our Facebook page at 11am on Sunday if you can’t be with us in person.

Christian Aid Week 2022

Christian Aid Week 15-21 May 2022Christian Aid Week 2022 runs from Sunday 15th until Saturday 21st May.
Cumbernauld Old has a fantastic record supporting the vital work of Christian Aid over many years.  If you’re able to support them again this year, you can donate online using our ‘e-envelope‘. As always, thank you for your generous support.

Love lies at the heart of the Christian gospel and Christian Aid have produced a video about how love gives people like Janet the courage to stand strong against drought and hunger.

Charity Concert

Cumbernauld Old Parish Church is delighted to be hosting a charity concert in aid of Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) on Tuesday 17th May at 7.30pm.
The Sounds of Spring concert has been organised by local pianist David Swan and a quartet of young up-and-coming musicians who will play a mix of their own compositions and a variety of classical, folk and jazz music inspired by and in celebration of spring. Expect the sounds of birdsong and April showers, stories of new life, and vivid rushes of spring colour, heard through the sounds of brass, harps, keyboards and guitars.
We are delighted to host David and his fellow musicians for such a worthy cause and anyone who wishes to come along on Tuesday 17th would be most welcome.
Entry is by donation. Teas and coffees will be available for donation to church funds.

Coffee Jar collection update

The total sum realised for Mary’s Meals by way of the ‘pennies’ collection at Cumbernauld Old Parish Church was an excellent £356.12. A cheque for that amount has been sent to the Charity.

Thanks to everyone who supported this project and especially to Barbara B. who had the unenviable task of emptying all the jars, and ‘hauling’ their contents to the bank.

Life for African Mothers

Knitters in the congregation are invited to help themselves to wool from the basket in the vestibule at church or at the back of the hall in Balloch to knit items for baby bundles for this charity. Any form of baby clothes would be appreciated – don’t worry about dark colours – or six-inch squares to make blankets. More information can be found in our church newsletter. Thanks a million to Margaret Robinson for her kind donation and to Elizabeth Snedden and Anne Morrison.
