Please join us as we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion on Sunday 5th June. Our worship service in the Parish Church starts at 11.00am and will be led by the Reverend Edson Duque de Castro, a Brazilian minister who is on a familiarisation programme for the Church of Scotland and is based in Bishopbriggs. All welcome!
The service will also be live-streamed on our Facebook page at 11am on Sunday if you can’t be with us in person.
Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations
Following our Communion service on Sunday 5th June, we’ll be having a Congregational Lunch to mark Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. This will be in the manse grounds, and everyone is invited to come along and catch up with one another over a light lunch and tea or coffee in the gazebos.
Ecumenical Pentecost Service
Sunday 5th June is also the Day of Pentecost and we’ll be celebrating it with an ecumenical Pentecost worship service in Sacred Heart Church, Kildrum at 3pm. All are welcome.
Post-worship Teas and Coffees
Now that restrictions have been relaxed once again, the Kirk Session has agreed that we should reintroduce serving tea and coffee in the Session House after the service. So many people have missed the opportunity for a cuppa and catch up.
But we need volunteers to make this happen! If you are willing to be part of a tea rota, please speak to Elizabeth Snedden any Sunday. Hopefully your turn would only come around every five or six weeks – the more volunteers the better!
Smart Savers fund-raiser
Our Fund-raising Group has relaunched the ‘Smart-Savers’ project to raise money for church funds. You are asked to take a tube of Smarties from the vestibule, enjoy the sweeties then fill the tube with 20p coins and return it to any of the office-bearers. Members have continued to hand them in throughout lockdown raising hundreds of pounds for the church, so it would be great to see that continue.
Lynn Strang, one of our organists, has said she would be interested in starting a singing group. It would be purely for fun and enjoyment, and we would sing a variety of popular music. If you want to find out more or are interested in taking part please speak to Elizabeth Snedden any Sunday.
