Crafts, Coffee & Christmas

Cumbernauld Old Parish Church’s Christmas Fair has had a revamp this year and will be appearing in its new guise of Crafts, Coffee and Christmas on Saturday 21st November from 10:00am till 12:30pm in the Village Hall, The Wynd.

As well as the traditional Hamper Raffle, Tombola, Raffle, Soft Goods, Baking and Ladies’ Group Mystery Bags there will be craft stalls including jewellery and prints, cards, fabric toys and goods, candles, personalised decorations and glassware. A great opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done!

Those of you with a sweet tooth can indulge in a treat from the chocolate fountain and grab a bargain from Thorntons including Advent Calendars, stocking fillers etc. all at special lower prices.

Entry includes coffee and refreshments: Adults £2 Children free.

Donations for Hampers, Tombola and the raffle can be handed in any time from now on in the vestibule in the church at the Village or the back of the hall at Balloch. Baking can be handed in to the District Hall from 9am on 21st November.
Due to the revamp we do not require anything other than baking and donations to raffle, hamper and tombola.

Summer Fete 2015

This year’s annual Summer Fete will be held on Saturday 30th May from 1.30pm – 4.00pm in the Manse grounds and we are looking for a turn-out to match last year’s wonderful attendance. Entry will be £1 per adult, with free entry for accompanied children. There will be an additional charge for the tea-room.

We hope to have all the usual stalls and plenty of activities for the children – at the moment we are looking for donations for raffle prizes and the tombola and soft goods (e.g. knitting, etc.) stalls. But most of all we’d like to ask you to put the date in your diary and make a note to come along.

We would also like help during the preceding week to help us get ready – if you can volunteer to help us clean / wipe down tables and chairs on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th from 6.30pm, and with erecting some stalls and gazebos on Friday 29th, that help would be greatly appreciated. Just turn up at the Manse and join in the fun!

With your help this year’s Summer Fete could be the best yet. Don’t miss it!

Christmas Fair

Our annual Christmas Fair is on Saturday 29th November in the Village Hall, The Wynd. Doors are open from 10am until 12.30pm and we hope to offer a wide range of stalls, crafts and the usual tearoom. We’re sure Santa will manage to come along and there will also be lots of activities to keep the children occupied in the kidzone.

We are currently looking for donations of baking, raffle and tombola prizes, knitting, soft goods, toys and games in good condition, and Deans’ shortbread for the tearoom. We’ll also be raffling our popular Festive Hampers and a chart is available at church and at the Forge for items that can be handed in. Unfortunately, due to a lack of storage, we are unable to accept any more bric-a-brac or books.

We hope to see you all on Saturday 29th!

Christmas Fayre crafts

Anne Morrison and Elizabeth Snedden are looking for helpers to make simple craft items for sale at the Christmas Fayre. Please don’t be shy or think you have to be particularly creative – just bring along your enthusiasm, interest and ideas. We already have lots of lovely ingredients which will be turned into items for sale on Saturday 29th November.

If you are willing to help, please come along to the Church Session House on Monday 17th November at 1.00pm. Tea and cream cakes a promise!
