We’ve now counted all the donations received from the house-to-house collection in Cumbernauld Old Parish during Christian Aid Week and are delighted to report that the sum raised was an excellent £1880.70.
But the good news doesn’t end there: of that sum £1110.60 was given under Gift-Aid, so with a basic rate of tax at 20%, this will add a further £222.12 to the total.
Plus, a further £250 for Christian Aid Week was raised at our Boys’ Brigade annual display, giving a grand total of £2352.82 – a magnificent effort. Well done to all our collectors and donors!
The money from the annual house-to-house collection in the parish has been counted and we can announce that the amazing sum of £2600.43 was collected this year. Of that £1224.10 was Gift-Aided, allowing Christian Aid to reclaim the tax at 25p in the £1 from these donations.
But the good news doesn’t end there – a further £500 was raised for Christian Aid at the Boys’ Brigade annual display in the Forge, so well done to them and to the parents and friends who supported them.
The amount raised in our parish during Christian Aid Week 2009 was £2501.81 – this includes £420 raised at the Boys’ Brigade display and represents a wonderful total in the present economic climate. Well done, and thank-you, to all concerned. Just as a footnote, around £837 of the total was gift-aided and this will generate a further £208 for Christian Aid.
