Cumbernauld Old Parish Church invites you to join our online worship service for Sunday 13th December, the Third Sunday of Advent.
Worship is led by our minister, Rev Elspeth McKay, and this week is our annual Nativity Service – thanks to the boys of the 1st Cumbernauld Company of the Boys’ Brigade for their contributions with this – and Gift Service. The service can be accessed from this link or viewed below.
Rainbow Service
This Sunday also sees our annual Rainbow Service for those who have been bereaved, whether recently or some time ago. It provides a space for people to reflect and remember and is also a reminder of God’s enduring love and care. This will also be an online-only service and we’ll post the details on our website, Facebook page and blog shortly.
Advent Calendar
We continue to post an entry from our online Advent Calendar every day from 1st December to 24th December on our Facebook page with links also on our church website Each day there will be a Bible reading and reflection and some days will have art, music or video as well. Why not pop over and join us as we journey together towards the manger.
Journey to Bethlehem
Follow the Christmas story on our interactive trail called Journey to Bethlehem. There are twelve numbered posters located around Cumbernauld Village, each with a picture from the Christmas story and a line from the Bible. The posters also have a QR code which you can scan on your mobile phone to read the relevant Bible passage. From that link you can also download an activity which can be done by younger people. Journey to Bethlehem can also be followed from the comfort of your own home – here’s the link to do that.
Time for Reflection
Our next Time for Reflection in Cumbernauld Old Parish Church will be on Sunday 20th December at 11am. This short service provides an opportunity for people to come and reflect and pray for half an hour in the church building. In order to ensure as safe an environment as possible, we need to limit the number of people who can attend and so we would invite those who wish to attend to let us know in advance. There will also be an online worship servie next Sunday and we’ll post the details nearer the time.
